New in 2024, Post 171 joined a nationwide effort to remember, honor and teach with wreaths placed on Gold Star Veterans’ gravesites with a special ceremony. The ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. The public is invited, and sponsors are encouraged to support the cost of the wreaths.

In partnership with Veterans Path to Hope, VFW Post 12014, and the City of Crystal Lake, this is a solemn event where names of the veterans will be spoken and recalled so they are never forgotten.
